summer sunday, full, sunny, perfect

A full weekend.  Family, food, music, bikes, sun…  A few images from a busy Sunday all over the place.

We take a morning bike ride and meet up with Sean in the Beaches for brunch on the Lion's beautiful patio. They were saying the weather would be horribly hot, but we're thinking it's wonderful; hazy yes, but summery breezes are gorgeous.

Along the way we meander around a path I'd not been on before. The hazy view of these boats sing "vintage" at me and I have to stop and shoot.

We enjoyed yesterday so much, we nip back to the 1000 Tastes of Toronto festival too hook up with Mia and Sam, and for an afternoon snack. This lady in fuschia was tasting some little vegan donuts. Distillery District, Toronto.

A gaggle of sailboats, over near the island.

More of the gaggle, beyond a buoy.

This one being towed back. Was this couple in trouble for going around in circles the wrong way? Did they just give up, not getting the hang of things? Did the wind fail them – a wind malfunction?

Maybe a canoe is the most reliable way to go.

Certain days are "sailing class" days, and you know it because there are lots of sailboats out there sailing around in circles.  It's a pretty sight.  I was kind of late catching these shots, the numbers had dwindled for tonight; however it was the most compelling thing out there tonight.

masts

I forgot to charge my phone (and workday camera) and it died at lunchtime today, and so again I was out after supper to find my daily photo.  Thursday night, lots to do at home, so I don't want to go far; but I've been down in the harbour and associated gardens plenty.  I'm walking around waiting for something to ask to be photographed, and something does.  Masts.

Lines.  Shapes.  Sky.  All gave me pleasure today.

Caught a plane taking off from the island airport. One of the things I love about being down here is the happy mesh of transportation sources – planes, ships, ferries, streetcars, canoes, taxis, sailboats, bicycles, skateboards, feet… Despite all that it's a peaceful feeling.  Maybe it appeals to my inherent restlessness.
