Purple Coat

Spadina Avenue at Front Street, Toronto.

It was 15°C when I left for work this morning.  Practically spring!  Didn't wear gloves, or a scarf.  When I left work to come home it was 5° and gusting winds and drizzling, sleeting and even hail at one point.  My hands were so cold, holding my umbrella and my camera that I couldn't hold the camera still enough to get a clear shot of anything.  This one came out relatively clear and I'm glad.  I liked this couple, and particularly the colour of her coat and beret against the grey evening.  I have no idea what their faces look like, but from behind, they reminded me of my friends Jamie and Frank.

Great photo, love the movement and how you have picked out the colour! Really nice, (as is that purple!)
I really enjoy following along with your photo journey. I hope it will become a permanant thing even after the 365 days are up. x

I really should walk around with my camera on and ready at all times – there are so many opportunities! Today a fella in a trenchcoat and round belly and black bowler arching back to look at a tall building. Man, it would have been a great photo! Was tempted to ask him to strike the pose again!

Awwwww… Frank said it looked like us “because we’re so in love.” double awwwwww!
I really like what you did with the colourization. I guess my camera does this, although I haven’t figured out how yet!

I had to catch that photo fast – occurred to me while the light was just about to turn green. Glad I got on it! Really glad to have you along on the journey my friend.

I think Frank is right – it’s all in their body language. Fun trying the colourizing thing. The filter I used, plus the rainy day, removed much of the colour anyway – it seemed the right thing to do. (Though her hair was darker than that – I could probably have fixed that too. I used Photoshop which I barely know.)
