more august, more views

Last night my girls came to dinner.  For awhile we had the rooftop patio to ourselves, which was surprising because as summer nights go, it couldn't have been more perfect.

The summer night is like a perfection of thought.  ~Wallace Stevens

The best kind of summer dinner - a hodgepodge of contributions by all – what's onhand, what was at the Thursday farmer's market, what looked good at the little grocer's; Ontario's bounty is something I'm always most grateful for this time of year.  It's most definitely beautiful thing number 55.
Queens Quay, Lake Shore Blvd. and the Gardiner Expressway, looking west.
Queens Quay looking east.

I never get tired of the moon painting light upon the lake.  Lets call it beautiful thing number 56.

    Beautiful photos! 🙂

    The views look so romantic.

Thanks pal – but I must say, they did nothing to capture the beauty of the evening!

Dusk is romantic, isn’t it Susan?

Mmmmmm. Those purple wine glasses set the scene perfectly – and the red fingernail on the left. Very chic. Looks like a lovely spread. And is that an argintine Brand of wine. I can’t quite read the label “Crios”?

AND the purple wineglasses fulfil the “no glass” requirement, as well as the “fun for picnic” one! It was a terrific spread – way too much food! Those are both Ontario wines, the Trius label from the Hillebrand winery in the grape-rich Niagara region. We had a Chardonnay and a Cabernet.
    Life is good!

I want to live where you live. It is so gorgeous. That Wallace Stevens quote is stunning. WOW. It’s so true. I like the purple wine glasses too. Very cool.

Selma, I’d share a summer meal and some Chardonnay in my purple wineglasses with you any day. I’m sure we’d talk all night.
